Lay it to Heart

Revival starts with the heart. Revival can't happen unless the pastors take God's word seriously, or as the Bible says, lay it to heart.

Jeremiah 12:10-11
Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness. They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

God is looking for the harvest of souls but if the vineyard is full of weeds the harvest is more difficult for the laborers. Pastors want to harvest the souls but not tend to the vineyard. We need to look at the sins of the church that are like weeds choking the vineyard. Revival won't start if Christians accept the authority of men over the word of God. For revival to happen we must recognize and follow the true word of God. Malachi 2:7 says, "For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts." Preachers are preserving tradition and not just truth. Revival must be a way of life but it can't be when pastors expect Christians to follow a deviant work and worship schedule. Believers today lack a clear understanding of what happened in the past, they are not led in the right way today and fail in a vision for the future. Real scholars use the Bible first and foremost. Revival requires a sole reliance on scripture and not tradition. Search the scriptures for yourself.

What is the True Word of God?

In Psalms 12:6-7 God tells us that he would preserve his word. "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." We have the preserved word of the Lord today through the copies we have in Hebrew and Greek.

Is the King James Version of the Bible Perfect?
The Kings James Version (KJV) is the only major version of the Bible that seeks to honestly translate the honest copies of scripture into English that I am aware of today. It is based on the majority of texts that we have whereas all other actual translations are corrupted translations of the legitimate copies of the scriptures that we have or are based on the corrupted occult influenced work of Wescott and Hort. We should use the KJV because it is very accurate. The KJV, however, is not the preserved word of God. God said he would preserve his word. He did not say that he would preserve it in all languages. Because the KJV has errors in it, we know that it is not the preserved word. It is very close. It is not inspired, inerrant or infallible. Most people in their lifetime will never study it enough to know the difference, but it still has errors.

What About Other Bible Translations and Versions?
Why should we care about what version of the Bible we use? The issue of which version to use is quite controversial today. If different versions disagree with each other at least one has to be wrong. If you are using an incorrect Bible you need to change. Examine the evidence and decide for yourself. I believe the King James Version is the best version. It is very good but it is not perfect. God said he would preserve his word. That has been accomplished through the Hebrew and Greek copies that we have today. While the modern translations are based on some good intentions and some bad ones, the end result is not acceptable.

Are Christmas Songs Scriptural?
It doesn't stop with corrupted translations, the attack on God's word continues with church hymns as well. False teaching is found in most Christmas songs that contain lyrics which are fictional, contradictory or wrong. These songs need to have the words changed. If they can't be fixed or corrected, they need to be eliminated. When people make up things about the Bible it's called false prophecy.

Are All Other Hymns Scriptural?
Just because a song is in the hymn book doesn't make it scriptural. You need to think about what you are singing. Compare the song to the Bible. If it disagrees with the Bible change it or don't sing it.

What Do We Really Know About the Past?

Some doctrine today is based incorrect teachings about the past. The result is Christians worship on the wrong day of the week, celebrate man made holidays, and ignore ones given by God. Scholars looking back at source writings and physical remains ignore what the Bible says about it.

What is the Age of the Earth?
The earth is only about 6,100 years old and the scriptures prove it. The church should redirect its predominant reliance upon secular sources toward the Bible's consistently reliable historical chronology as the Bible includes an accurate and almost complete time table from Adam until Christ, the only possible gap being between Daniel and the Crucifixion. Many alleged uncertainties are resolved after further examination. The chronology from Adam to Christ is simple enough for elementary school children to learn and should be taught as a foundation for all other history. Secular schools perform the same task substituting evolution and vast amounts of time for creation and a young age of the Earth. By starting with the correct overview of history, only then can Christians properly develop the background for other historical teachings.

How Many Animals of Each Kind Were on the Ark?
Almost every time I see a picture of the animals on, or going to, Noah's ark, the picture is wrong. It took me a long time to catch on although I have read the scripture passage many times. How Long is the Prophetic Year?
The prophetic year, as taught by many scholars today, just isn't right. The term "prophetic year" is never mentioned in the Bible. Methods to derive the length of a so-called prophetic year use incorrect logic and assumptions. Several passages in scripture have been taken out of context to create the prophetic year.

How Should We Worship Today?

The Resurrection
Many churches worship on Sunday because they believe that Jesus rose from the grave on that day. The real reason churches meet on Sunday is to uphold tradition, not scripture. Jesus could not be crucified on Friday and raised on Sunday.

Palm Sunday
Tradition has become more important to Christian scholars than Biblical truth. The Triumphal Entry is one example. Jesus did not make this entrance on Sunday but instead on Friday.

The Lord's Supper
There is nothing more important than the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Because he died on the cross, he washed away our sins. Because he rose, we know it. We are not saved because we take the Lord's supper or communion but instead we remember Jesus' death for us when we partake. We should handle the truth correctly and honor Jesus with our diligence in this matter.

2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" The verse means all scripture is inspired by God and all scripture is profitable. Preachers prefer to forget that all scripture is profitable. Don't ignore God's word.

Malachi 2:1-2
"And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart."
